Abstinence
Empowering Everyday Women is teaching young
women and teens to live lives of purity by abstaining
from premarital sex. This effort is also aimed at
helping stop the spread of HIV/AIDS.
40 percent of individuals diagnosed with HIV/AIDS
in the U.S. are African Americans between the ages
of 15-29. Empowering Everyday Women seeks to
change this by promoting abstinence, educating
citizens, and partnering with like-minded
